The soon-to-be-married couple should do their research to gain a correct understanding of the details of any cultural ritual so that it can be rightfully combined with another form of ceremony if it is at all acceptable, lest it comes out tacky, inauthentic or disrespectful.

2.   What can be done to “Asianize” a wedding celebration?

The easiest way is through food.  Other ways would be to incorporate Asian elements such as language through songs, prayers and readings or through decorations.

For many Asian countries, a traditional wedding costume represents national identity and pride.
