Choosing suppliers

Flowers, limo service, music, photography, videography, souvenirs, invitations--so many details to worry about, and so many things to spend for! Here are some ways to make it less stressful and less expensive:

Flowers. Choose flowers that are in season. Technically the only fresh flowers “required” are that of the bride and the entourage; for your reception, arrange giveaways in each table to double as centerpieces (for example, chocolates in colorful boxes, candles, or balloon bouquets).
Invitations. You can send out an early, casual email notice just so people can note it on their schedule, but you need to send the formal invitations at least two months before. If you're on a budget, consider making your own invitations (just visit a local craft store for pre-cut cardstock).
Music. The choice of music sets the tone and reflects the theme of the wedding reception. Will you get a string quartet or a band? What songs will you play? Once you select your musicians, go through their playlist and choose what you want for key points in your program (the first dance, cutting of the cake, etc).
Souvenirs. You don't have to spend a lot of money on souvenirs; there are so many options available for every budget. However, pick one that matches either your wedding theme or your personality as a couple. For example, if you love the beach, you can give away shell-shaped soap, especially if you held your reception at the Marina. It's these little touches that make a wedding your wedding.
