Wedding Packages & Tour Operators
Getting married abroad can work out much cheaper than having a wedding at home as fewer people are generally involved and you get to honeymoon in an exotic location too. Most destinations will require that you have been a resident for between 1-5 days before you can get married, for this reason it is wise to book for at least two weeks to allow for any unforeseen paperwork or last minute alterations to the date of the wedding. Packages differ but should include the cost of the ceremony, marriage licence and certificate, services of the registrar and wedding co-ordinator. Many will also include a cake, sparkling wine, flowers and the possibility of a room upgrade where available.
It's also worth asking about what added extras are available to make your wedding day really special. Many hotels can organise a romantic sunset cruise, a relaxing massage or manicure before the ceremony or arrange for you to have indulge in a romantic Champagne breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding. Be sure to discuss where you want to get married before you book it. Most hotels can arrange for you to get married in a choice of locations within the hotel grounds or they may have a wedding gazebo.
If your heart is set on getting married on the beach check if this will be legal in your chosen destination. Ask about the time of day you can get married, it is important to consider how hot it will be and for this reason most couples tend to get married in the morning or late afternoon just before sun down. If you're keen to get married on a certain date check well in advance that this date is definitely available. Dates often change for several reasons so its worth waiting until you get home before you have anything engraved with your wedding date.
